Research

Dr. Fafulas’ research program examines both majority languages, including Spanish, English, and Brazilian Portuguese, and minority languages such as Bora and Yagua. His work addresses multilingualism from multiple perspectives, integrating linguistic, social, and cultural dimensions. His current projects include analyses of data from a Fulbright-supported study on second dialect acquisition among Ecuadorians living in Spain, as well as research documenting the linguistic, cultural, and social characteristics of bilingual regions in the U.S. South.
